Industrial Advisory Panel Meeting 2024
On 17 October 2024, the 5th meeting of the Industrial Advisory Panel (IAP) of the NAME Department was held in the department’s conference room. The panel included representatives from various sectors of the shipbuilding industry and academia, all committed to preparing students for the workforce and supporting national development. The Head of Department (HoD) highlighted the invaluable role that IAP plays in guiding the department through the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) process and providing mentorship in curriculum development, industrial training etc. Discussions focused on departmental updates since the last IAP meeting and outcome of previous meeting. The meeting covered agendas like preparations for accreditation, feedback for the smooth conduct of industrial training and insights into the performance of NAME graduates from MIST. Additionally, the panel reviewed the current structure of the IAP and discussed various miscellaneous topics. The meeting concluded with the HoD expressing gratitude to the IAP members for their valuable contributions and recommendations, which are expected to lead to significant benefits for the NAME Department, its students and the broader maritime sector in Bangladesh.
